The story of the Grace Foundation is a remarkable one. Elisme, the Justice Champion for GracePoint Church in Fochville, was identified and release in August 2015, within 4 months Elisme and her team were actively engaging with a school in their local impoverished area of Greenspark and were beginning to partner with the school to provide literacy and support to their staff and learners. In January 2016, they had revamped the library of the school and had begun to implement a strategy to introduce a literacy program that will begin in the 2nd term of this year.
In 2016 they were actively working with 20 learners, were arranging outreaches where local community and church members were able to painted and decorated the school library that helped morph it into a beautiful reading centre. Included in the revamp was the school’s counselling room – this room is now a safe and happy environment where kids can be helped.
During their February newsletter they spoke of three of their learners who were spoiled for their birthdays with a beautiful birthday cake each and noted how emotional it was as some of these kids had never had a cake before.
The literacy centre is now up and running and they are hoping to expand to more children in more grades next year. Here is a video report released in September this year: https://www.facebook.com/jccrafford.biz/videos/795239150617750/
